Math homework?? 8th Grade math? Percent increase?
Six months ago a gold charm bracelet sold for $120, and a matching chain sold for $250. The same chain now costs $285.
a) To the nearest percent, what is the percent increase?
b) If the price of the bracelet has increased by the same percent, what what is the new price of the bracelet?
Please help me!!!! And no “I dont answers either”

then take that over 250…35/250 =.14 which is 14 %
then take 120 times 14% which is 120 * .14 =16.80
and then add 120 + 16.80 =136.80
a) 14%
b) $136.80
The fraction is always the “change” over the beginning amount.
Change is from 250 to 285 or $35.
Your fraction is 35/250. Change to a percent.
For the second part, multiply the percent you got on the first part times the 120. Add that amount to the 120.

Put it over the original price ($250) as you would a division problem.
ex: (first answer / original price) = decimal (change to percent using rules)
To find B, just reverse the info from the answer.
In A you yielded the percent amount. Plug all of your info back in as if you were solving the problem for the first part but substitute some sort of variable for “difference of the two original prices” Solve as a proportion.
once u ve answered question a, u should be able to solve question b quite easily.
As for the bracelet 120+(14%)=136.8
