MATH HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Solve this: (1/2)/(2/3)*(3/4)*(4/5) = ??
Favorite Answer
1/2 = .50
2/3 = .667
3/4 = .75
4/5 = .20
So the above formula is translated as :
= (.50/.667) X .75 X .20 = 0.1124 or
= [ (1/2) X (3/2) ] X .75 X .20 = 0.1125
Always use the BODMAS rule as a method of calculation
1. B – anything within Brackets
2. O – operand
3. D – Division
3. M – Mutiplication
4. A – Addition
5. S – Subtraction.
Order of importance in math functions… P(parenthesis), E(exponents), M(multiplication), D(division), A(addition), S(subtraction).
1/2 divided by 2/3 is actually going to be 1/2 * 3/2…
So then you have 1/2 * 3/2 * 3/4 * 4/5..
The 4’s cancel out, so then really you have…
1/2 * 3/2 * 3/1 * 1/5
Should be 9/20, but you might want to double check it.
