When you solve for “y”… you basically want to “isolate” the “y” so that it is on one side… and all the “x” terms and integers are on the other side of the inequality sign…. Soo…

Problem 1:

3y < x + 6 ..... Solve for y.... Okay... just divide each of the terms by "3" y < (1/3)x + 2 Problem 2 2x + 3y > 6

move the 2x to the other side so you have….

3y > -2x + 6

Now divide each of the terms by “3”

3 > -(2/3)x + 2

Problem 3:

x – y <= 0 just move the y to the other side.... x <= y .... which is the same as if you wrote... y >= x

DONE!!!

Yes… school is after tomorrow…. so you still have tomorrow to practice some extra problems so that they get easier for you to solve!!!

first you have to know what represents the variables x and y to answer the equations
