Literature Essays?
Recently I’ve found out that when associating with literature, essays, and articles, the tense should be written in present tense. The only thing I don’t understand is what happens if I’m referring to a deceased being or with a past memory? I’ve been told if I’m dealing with a deceased or the past, I am to write in past tense. Any thoughts whatsoever?

I wonder that, too. I use the past tense since the “event” has finished in the book.
