K, in advanced algebra, don’t know what domain, range, and function are?

my teacher gives us homework one day, and explains the lesson the next day. PLEASE help me understand it, the book really isn’t helping, and I have 25 problems on this!

Domain is X, plain and simple, range is Y. A function is an equation that has NO ABSOLUTE VALUES or EXPONENTS.

Here’s an example function.

f(x)= x + 5 ; f(4)

f(x) is the same as Y. And the f(4) is the given value.

Just replace all x’s with 4. Then solve.

f(4)= 4 + 5 Got much simpler huh?
