Transitive verbs have objects. Number one is a transitive verb because the direct object is “people”. Number two is also transitive because the object is “book”.

Number five is neither. It is called a copular verb. Your teacher either doesn’t know or is tricking you.

There is no distinction between “who” or “what” with transitive and intransitive verbs. Transitive verbs answer both. Instransitive verbs answer “how” “when” “where” and “why”.
