Is this the correct use of a semi colon?

Fireworks should be legalized for those reasons; for entertainment, hefty profits for legal distributors, and increased safety for those that currently use fireworks regardless of the law.

I’m not sure exactly if that works, and there are three sentences prior to this.

No. You need a colon after “reasons”, NOT a semi-colon. A semi-colon is used to break up a long, two-part sentence with a common subject.

A semi-colon is supposed to work like a comma, to slow you down, but also to break a sentence into parts, without using too many “ands”.

“Fireworks should be legalized for these reasons: For entertaintainment; hefty profits for legal distributors; and increased safety for those that currently use fireworks regardless of the law.”
