There are two complete thoughts the first one is the declarative statement “These are your instructions,” and the second is the command. “Walk beside Marcus. Since these are two complete thoughts you need to either separate them with a period and capital letter, or you need the make the “W” in walk lowercase. You can add other things to the sentence if there are more instructions because the colon generally denotes a list but is definitely appropriate here. You could also join the two sentences with a semi-colon. Good luck.
