Is this grammatically correct?

“Susan Glaspell and Henrik Ibsen tapped into this notion, Glaspell in her “Trifles” and Ibsen in his “A Doll’s House.””

I am not certain about the use of that comma. Would it be better as a colon? Or should I just try and rewrite the setence altogether?

Grammar crisis!

You’re right about the comma. A colon, while not incorrect, would be awkward. I would suggest rewriting it. You have several choices. Here’s my first thought:

Susan Gladspell tapped into this notion in “Trifles”, as Henrik Ibsen did in his “A Doll’s House”.

Good Luck!!

Looks good! You could also use an em dash.

You should use a semi-colon, not a colon.
