As a teacher who has taught a “Senior Workshop” research writing class, I can tell you that your question is too vague, and not very compelling. You should refocus your question on a controversy in art. I am not an art expert, but perhaps a famous artist that has sparked controversy in the field? Or how about the various definitions of art (What’s your take on graffiti? Is is art? Or what about non-commissioned public art that’s been destroyed, because it was seen as a nuisance — I’m thinking of the Heidelberg Project in Detroit as an example of that). Talk to your art teacher, or workshop teacher for more ideas.

As far as your product goes, it will depend on your research question, won’t it? Perhaps focusing your project on education on your topic to a specific audience (to other students? to children? to the public at large? to city council?). Good luck!
