3.49 hours or 3 hours and 29 mins.. remember that if the equation is distance divided by time equals rate, the units have got to cancel out. so basically i used logic to get it.. you do 41.9 divided by x equals 12… so you divide 41.9 by 12 and get 3.49, but that is in hour form. to get hours and minutes, you have to do a proportion. if there are 60 mins in one hour you have to set
49/100 equal to x/60 and cross multiply so you get (60 times 49) = 100x. which equals 2940 = 100x then you get x = 29.4. i really hope i helped.. just read it a couple times if its confusing!

Just under 3 1/2 hours. Or 3 hours and 29 minutes. 12 x3 = 36, 12 x 4 = 48, 42 is half way in between….so a little less than half an hour in minutes.

Hi Sarah,
you don’t need three hours – 3 seconds should do.
41.9 / 12 = 3.49 hours
Which is 3 hours and 30 minutes (ish)

what you have is a decimal time
to convert that into minutes just multiply it by 60
so……you’ll have 3hrs &29minutes &31.2seconds
ok?
