Descriptive Writing Food

From the info you have given, I would start by explaining and describing the place ie the canteen… Describe the outside of the building, is it old, new, dark, run down. Then as you make your way inside, describe everyhting you would be seeing, smelling, hearing… ie the foul smell was oozing out of the grease trap which was so overflowing with what can only be described as brown thick muck.

Once you have set the mood for the reader… you can then go on to talk about the kinds of foods available… Fatty fast food seems to be the choice of the day. Then you can carry onto the people who are eating there…. they are just lazy, you can see them gaining more and more weight with every bite of their oil drizzled burger, most patrons needing to spread their wide flabby bottom on two chairs.

If you are in a public school here is what i did, literally from 8th grade till i graduated. When they tell you to write a descriptive essay, start out describing the area, the colors, what it looks like, distances, the time of day etc… then once you cant think of anything else to write, (here is the secret) write about NINJAS!! I am so serious its not even funny, every essay i have done A+ i am not lying teachers love the change, the action, the drama, its something to set your essay apart from the others, if the teachers ask about it just tell them you wanted to go “above and beyond” the requirment, Just talk about the people in the area, what you are doing, whether you are fighting the ninjas or just watching them fight it doesnt matter, it works, describe what they are wearing/fighting with. Its so easy and before you know it your essay is done. Try it! if your schools are the same as every other public school i have been to(switched schools every year starting 6th grade) then you will get good marks on it. goodluck!
