1) x+y=2
[subtract “x” from each side]
y=-x+2
(2,2)
2y-x=10
[add “x” to each side]
2y=x+10
[divide each side by 2]
y=(1/2)x+5
(-9,5)
2) 3x+y=3
[subtract “3x” from each side]
y=-3x+3
(1,3)
2y=-6x+6
[divide each side by 2]
y=-3x+3
(1,3)
3) 2x+y=-4
[subtract “2x” from each side]
y=-2x-4
(-2,-4)
5x+3y=-6
[subtract “5x” from each side]
3y=-5x-6
[divide each side by 3]
y=(-5/3)x-2
