I need help with my english inclass speech?

Hey. In my english class we have to come up with an Skill that we are good at and write a speech or procedure that lasts about 2-3 minutes. Ive got my Idea which is “How to do a Throw in Properly” But I’m no good with writing procedures and steps for some reason XD. Would anyone give me ideas on what to write or any facts or something that can extend my speech a bit longer Thanks.

Include a lot of examples of what not to do. Include a few points assuming people have no idea what your talking about. Also adding a story of a mishap, or injuries that could happen would be good.

2-3 minutes is quite a long time, you need a plan. Sit down and bullet point your main ideas, you need at least 6-10 ideas.

Jot down some steps along the way, some stories or anecdotes.

Look it up with Encarta or Wikipedia.

Also think about your audience, what do they need to know, how will you keep them interested? What visual aids will you use?

Hope this helps

This sounds like one of the first assignments of a high school speech class.

Keep your cool, and pretend that your audience knows nothing about your subject.

You could run through the activity a few times and pause to record your actions, then go from there. Also, props will hide the fact that your speech is short.

Should be a piece of cake. I did mine on dancing to ska music.

Well, English is supposed to be a descriptive language so describe your ‘throw in’ and perhaps do it by pretending that you are talking about it from a famous person (well known for ‘throw in’s’) who is describing you doing a ‘throw in’. He could say XYZ is skilled (but not quite in my league) at throw in’s lets have a look at how he does it and how his body reacts. You could then describe yourself doing it and also the emotions and physical aspects of being skilled and successful at it.You could not only explain how the throw in is achieved but also the physical demands i.e. adrenalin rush , how many calories are burned.
