My university maths teacher. He was very down to earth and fair. He also knew how to joke while still keeping control of the class. He was very good at explaining things and breaking them down and allowed students to ask questions and was willing to go over things as many times as it took for you to get it, either individually or as a class. He made himself available to students whenever they needed help. He made the subject fun and always related the topic to real-life things, making it easier and more motivating to learn and understand.

I think all of that made him a good lecturer!

My favorite teacher was my 7th grade English teacher. When I came into 7th grade, I was VERY poor on grammar, and she taught me many new things which made my reports and stories MUCH better for school. She was the only teacher that didn’t judge me because of what I wore, in fact, she did the opposite, she thought I was “awesome” because of my appearance and being different. (I was a bit punk then.) She was an overall great person and wonderful teacher.

my favorite teacher in college taught a class in special education and another in psychology. a good teacher makes learning fun. you enjoy going to class and want to do well. good college teachers treat you more like an adult. my favorite had all her students over to her house for pizza so she could get to know us better. she didn’t just lecture, but told us amusing stories to illustrate points so we’d remember them better. good teachers have as much fun teaching as their students do learning.

It was always the teacher who was very passionate about what they taught. The one who used more than just a chalk and chalkboard to get their points across.

My choice……..

ALAN DERSHOWITZ, professor of Criminal Law at Harvard University. Great attitude, smart , knows the law, but mostly because he tells it like it is. He even defends his enemies’ rights to voice their opinions .
