i need help with algebra?
y=2x-3
y=7-2x
y=x/2-1
y=3x/2+4
y=x
y= 1/2-5x/2
Favorite Answer
1. is in slope intercept form so
slope=2 Y intercept= -3
2. is not in slope intercept form, so you have to switch the -2x and the 7,
slope=-2 y intercept= 7
3. it is in slope intercept form. so,
slope= 1/2 (the one on top came from the # of x’s there is) Yintercept=-1
4.it is in slope intercept form, so
slope= 3/2 y intercept=4
5.this looks wierd, but it is in slope intercept form,so
slope=1 (the # of x’s) and the y intercept=0 (because thier is no # )
6. This is not in intercept form, so switch the -5x/2 and the 1/2 like in #2 so,
slope=-5/2 (make sure you include the minus, when you move the -5x/2 it moves as a whole, with the minus!)
Y intercept= 1/2
For example:
y = 3x + 6
So any number infront of ‘x’ is your slope and in this case it is 3, so thas ur slope while your y-intercept is the constant ( or any number that’s written separate without a variable(x, y, z etc) attached to it). In this case its obviously 6. I am not gonna tell u all the answers since i think it explained well enough, but for ur fifth question i.e y= x, the slope is 1 and since u dont see any separate number or constant in the equation, the y-intercept is 0.
Hint: Always put the ” x terms” first in the equation like for instance if u have y = 2 + 6x, so put it like y = 6x + 2 (makes life easier and problem easy to solve and its the same thing, but dont forget to put the correct signs.)
eg: y=2x-3, Our slope would be 2
y-intercept is the number without the x
eg: y=2x-3, Our y-intercept would be -3
2. =4y7
3. =y9x0
4. =4.5
5. =y1x3
those are ya anwsers hope it helped
