For first grade, keep a few rules in mind:
1. Keep it simple.
2. Keep it interesting.
3. Don’t overburden them with details, especially scary ones you might be tempted to use as an attention getter.
How’s this: You could explain a job. Like tell them what a doctor does on a regular shift. You could explain the difference between a doctor and a nurse. It would’ve been helpful if you told us the topic.
