-2n + 202 = 0

+2n +2n

202= 2n

/2 /2

101 = n or n= 101

202 – 2n = 0

+ 2n +2n

202 = 2n

/2 /2

101 = n 0r n = 101

therefore they are the same.

Yes. You’re using the commutative property. The order in which things are added does not affect the answer. make n = 4

-2(4) + 202 = 202 – 2(4)

-8 + 202 = 202 – 8

194 = 194

yes, they are exactly the same, just in a different order. The sign (+ or -) needs to stay with the constant…..the -2n is the same in both, the +202 is the same in both, even though in the 2nd one, it is invisible. 🙂

No, they are not the same. When you change the signs for -2n+202, you get 2n-202. 2n-202 is different from 202-2n
