This is a special and rare flower. I say special because, firstly, the plant is considered lucky by most Filipinos and, secondly, one has to wait for about 25 years before the plant will have flowers. And once the plant starts flowering, one has to wait again 5 years before it will have flowers again.
Unable to find any uses for the plants except for aesthetics.

Here is the Zemioculcas Zamifolia, or Fortune Money Plant. The qi (“chi”) they talk about is taken very seriously in this culture, where chi is apparently a flow of energy that can be a positive or negative flow (think of the ying and yang).
