I need an opinion…?

Do you think it is necessary for a person in your field of study to learn psychology and neuroscience? Explain. I am studying business administration and I really do not see why I would need to use anything about this in my line of work…but maybe I am missing something. Any thoughts?

In business, I think it’s incredibly important to understand the psychology behind developing, marketing and selling a product. You need to understand the motives of your customers and the hopes and dreams of your employees. It’s also necessary to have a vision for one’s organization that goes beyond the day to day operations, one that convinces people that you, as their boss, are someone to whom they would give their very best. Check out any of the books by Peter Drucker.

Well psychology is part of everyday life. In studying business administration I can see the importance of understanding the human’s mind and pattern of thinking. If you understand how people are affected by situations, than you will be able to manage in greater means. Basically, psychology is that of studying people. Business deals with people, and administration deals with leading others.

Do you see the connection now?

Organizational behavior is a subject required in many business adminstration curriculum. It is not psychology directly but it incooperates alot of the same ideas. Just take the psychology class and try to get as much relevant knowledge out of it as you can.

All the best.

Anyone not living alone in a cabin deep in the woods on a secluded mountain can benefit from psychology courses. If you interact with people, understanding how and why people think is qute important.

Neuroscience? Not sure why that is included, but I’d have to read the course outline to know.
