If you like cooking, why not do a cultural comparison of foods from different cultures? You could compare and contrast styles, common ingredients, preparation techniques, etc. It would be even better if you did unusual cuisines such as Cambodian or Ethiopian.

look at news websites such as abc, cnn, yahoo, google, new york times. and they have differnt topics at the top ususally:

u.s., world, politics, entertainment, health, tech, travel, living, business, sports, etc. whichever topic intrests you most click on it. like you might see an artical about how baby videos harm the baby’s vocabulary learning skills. and you don’t have to do a current event topic or anything but maybe that artical can give you ideas about other things.. like you can link the facts that kids are watching too much tv and vid. games and the obesity rate increasing.

if you are interested in cooking do a paper on the history of a certain type of food, use of spices, a favorite chef, etc. How about the history of FAST food, how fast food has changed over the last 20 years, etc? There are alot of things you can do…don’t panic…use your creativity. Good luck!
