I need a good attention getter for my speech for speech class?
We have to write about a personal experience and I chose my back surgery i had last year (summer of 06′) when i was 13. It was for scoliosis, I can’t think of a good attention getter. Please help me? Definition? Quote? Anything!

Go for sympathy. If you resorted to back surgery, your disability must have been pretty great. Start with your personal story: “Can you imagine trying to pour water into a glass when you are struck with a spasm so intense that you drop the glass?” and how desperate you became. Then, if the surgery was a success, how grateful you are. If not, how disappointed you are.
