I think it’s a matter of how your brain is wired. Some people like to go through life without any strain on their brain and other people like a constant mental challenge. There is very little that is as challenging as learning another language and learning more than just ONE other language is a real challenge.

Even though I am 67, I still will find something new to learn, even if it’s a continuation of something I previously learned. For the past 4 years, I have been studying advanced Spanish… and I still haven’t mastered all 16 tenses of most of the Verbs, but it’s a challenge and I like it.

Since I learned that keeping your mind active as you grow older is the best prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease… it’s just a matter of self preservation.
