I have to do an Environmental Education Project on any one serious Environmental Problem. Any suggestions?

I was thinking of going for Global Warming, but I thought that it would be better to try something that everyone else won’t choose. It’s a 10th grade Board Exam project and I thought that it would be better to choose some other topic that is important in terms of the environment, interesting, and also easy to look up on the internet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It would also be nice if you could tell me any sites where I could find info on the topic.

The first thing that comes to mind is something that every animal human and plant on this planet need and that is water.

My suggestion is to do it on water pollution and how it is affecting basically everything. Also explain how we have contributed to this problem.

Easy to look up on the net this is, and if you just Google water polution you will get over a million sites on the topic.

I hope this helps.

To be unusual, I would go with one of two topics. I believe with a little work, there is plenty of info online for these:

1. Paintable solar panels. This is technology that allows the paint on one’s house or business to transmit solar energy to a collection battery. If this could be done efficiently and cheaply, the government could require that all homes have it and solve many parts of our energy crisis that is getting worse.

2. Wind generators on unused farms. This is big in England, and could be in the US. Farmers that aren’t using parts of their land (wide fence areas, bad soil, small creeks, tough tree lines, weird inclines) could place a small network of unobtrusive windmill-type wind generators on their land. They then sell that energy back to the electric company and are essential wind farmers. It is cheap and will get cheaper and if we could just educate folks that this is an easy way to make money, the American farmer may not disappear so quickly as they are now.
