I have an essay to do and I have no idea what to write about.?

This essay has to do with the book “A lesson Before Dying” by Ernest J. Gaines.

Here is the topic:In the face of constant attack and struggle, how does one preserve one’s convictions and personal beliefs?

3) The early Christians & martyrdom

4) The early civil rights movement: people who suffered for trying to help civil rights: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

You have to actually read the book to do the paper. The book answers the essay question for you. Look at it this way..

1. “How does [the book character] preserve [his/her] convictions and personal beliefs?”.

2. How do YOU preserve your convictions and personal beliefs?

That is what your instructor is probably looking for. If you gave me a generic response about your own personal view without mentioning the book I would think you didn’t really bother to read or analyze the subject.
