I have an essay I have to do for english. What does it mean to?

basically you describe your strengths and weaknesses as a student. do you learn best by reading or listening? traits that will define your learning style as a student. happy writing!

You describe yourself in a roundabout way. But what the teacher is asking for is what it is (trait) that makes you the way you are as a student. You could be obsessive, which would explain your thoroughness in your school work, ditto: dedicated, focussed and/or driven. Or you could be lazy, which would explain the opposite. It could be another trait which makes you prefer math, English- or even sports- which shows why you are the student that you are.
First, list the trait. Then define the trait. Then write how it applies to you and your particular scholastic character.

A trait or characteristic refers to general things about you. Are you very motivated? Are you a quick learner? Are you very determined and tenacious? Pick one general characteristic of yourself, and then describe in the essay how that particular characteristic helps you succeed in school. Good luck!
