ok..been a long time since i did anything like this but i’m gonna give it a shot…

y= total cost

x= number of hours

b= base fee

a) y = b + 1.50(x)

7.75 = b + 1.50(5)

7.75 = b + 7.50

7.75-7.50 = b + 7.50 – 7.50

.25 = b

25 cents

b) y = .25 + 1.50(9)

y = .25 + 13.50

y = 13.75

$13.75

c) 20.00 = .25 + 1.50x

19.75 = 1.50x

13.167 = x

13 hours with .25 in change

like i said..i’m not sure but that’s my best guess

good luck!
