No you don’t subtract 3x you have to keep it opposite the equal sign, subtract 5x, so then it’s

2=-2x

x=-1

5x+2=3x First subtract the 2 from both sides for 5x=3x-2

Then subtract 3x from both sides for 2x=-2

divide both sides by 2. So x= -1,

oops dropped the negative sign. Always did that in algebra.

okay you can subtract 3x from both sides and get 2x+2=0 and in oreder to solve this you have to subtract both sides by 2 and you get 2x=-2 and then you divide both sides by 2 and you get x=-1 hopefully this helped you were on that right track you just have to get variables on 1 side and whole numbers on the other for this type of equation

no you subtract 5x from 3x and it then is 2 = -2x then you have to divide x = -1

whoa there . . .

you want to subtract -5X from both sides, not the 3x

now you have 5X – 5X +2 = 3X- 5X

you do the work from here

5x + 2 = 3x

-3x -3x

2x+2=0

-2 -2

Then divide by 2, x=-1

ok so…

5x+2=3x

-5x -5x subtract 5x from each side

2=3x divide by 3 on both sides

2/3=x

or

x=2/3 you should always try to rewrite the x first

**the 2/3 is the fraction 2 over 3…i k now you probably knew that but i wanted to clarify!!

hope ive helped

well, you’d have 2x+2=0

so, subtract 2 from each side to get

2x=-2

and then divide by 2 on each side to get x=-1
