I have a Creative Writing assignment that I need help on… ?
I need to write a “How To:” paper on something (SCHOOL APPROPRIATE!!)… But I don’t know what to write about. The draft is due Tuesday. Could you give me suggestions one what to write about?

For easy stuff, give directions on how to cook something, like spaghetti, or how to play your favorite game (hopscotch, chess, poker). If you’ve ever done any arts & crafts, you could give directions on how to build or make something. For more creative stuff, try writing about how enjoy a popsicle on a hot day, or how to make your parents angry enough to ground you for the summer (step 1: find your parents car keys. step 2: place keys in ignition…). I know these are silly ideas, but in my defense, it’s a silly assignment.

write about something that you are passionate about. when i did that assignment i wrote an essay on how to get to my house, but instead of saying turn left here or right there, i did it creativly. for example: when you come over the hill that my grandma and I used to picknik on together, stop the car, smell the fresh country air and pick some wild flowers.
its really easy to be creative if u dont think about it too hard and not worry about someone being mean and making fun, that was the hardest thing i had to get over

I had this assignment in my Sophomore year in technical writing class. we were supposed to write it like we were writing to little kids and do step by step instructions. I wrote ‘how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich’ it was really easy and kind of fun.

find something interesting or unusual that happened to you lately and make it a how-to. (for example, if your commute got stranded on the way to school, you can write it off as ‘how to get as late as possible in the most absurd way’)
or you can write a how-to about the things you don’t like (‘how to hate neighbors’) or things you like (‘how to eat properly and sumptuously’).
