i have to do this paper and i have to have all these

:hypothesis

:Independent variable

:control(if needed)

:materials

:procedure

and thats all. and i cant find anything that has that

and what the heck is a constant? and a control

im not smart so this is kinda hard for me

hypothesis is a guess about what is going to happen

independent variable is a variable that is independent of the experiment

dependen variable is dependent on a specific outcome of the experiment

constants are items that are held equal

control is a separate situation you don’t mess with

materials are what you need

procedure is what you do.

A simple experiment would be plants. You could hypothesis that a plant will grow 30% more using fertilizer (or even that there are different brands of fertilizer).

Your independent variable would be the water and sunlight the plant gets

the dependent variable is the amount and type of fertilizer you use

your constants would be the soil you placed each plant in and the container (make sure all are the same for all plants)

control would be a plant you don’t add any fertilizer to

materials: fertilizer 2 or more plants soil, etc

procedure: plant the plants, put them in sun, water every day, fertizlize based on a present amount and measure them each day to see how they grow.

I’m working on this right now at school. Constants are something that you keep the same. Materials are the things you need for your experiment. Hypothesis is an educated guess. You should find the definitions for DV and IV in the back of your textbook. I haven’t heard of Control nor have we studied Procedure. Good Luck!!! Hope I Helped!

haha we are doing this in science right now.

come up with an experiment. like time how long it takes seperate dogs to eat a cup of food. and have one thing on the graph be time and the other be which dog.

a constant is the one thing that doesnt change in the experiment (ex- the one cup of dog food)

hope it helps.

constants–things you’re not changing, but not measuring

control–if you’re checking to see how long it takes people to complete a puzzle while listening to different types of music (not a good choice, but you get the idea), the control might be how long it took them to do the puzzle w/o any music
