I don’t know whether to use permutation or combination for these stats questions, please help?
Also please tell me if it’s with or without repitition:
1) In how many ways may 19 distinct pencils be assigned to 4 students?
2) In how many ways can at least one of the students be assigned zero identical pencils?
3) In how many ways can at least one of the students be assigned zero distinct pencils?
Thanks a lot!

The main question is “Does order matter?” Is A, B, C, D the same as B, D, C, A? Then you use combination. If not, then you use permutation.
