First, consider why you believe people should listen to what you have to say. What is in it for your audience? What is the benefit to them? That’s usually a good place to start a speech — focusing on why your audience should wake up and pay attention to what you have to say.

Two things most required to advance in the BIG corporate world. One, brains.Two, the ability to speak well before a group of your peers. Number Two separates the group of Number Ones. That is to say, when you have a lot of smart people, they will be judged or separated into groups by how well they speak in public. The better speakers will move up the corporate ladder much more quickly then those who don’t. I spent 32 years with a top ten in the world corporation. With all of that said, the ability to speak well can change your life in ways you cannot believe until after the fact.

Walk up & say,

“Help! That’s what I need from this class! I need help in learning the techniques to get an audience’s attention” and go on from there.

Tell the story of Demosthenes (dem-aws-then-ees) and how he overcame his stuttering by learning to speak with pebbles in his mouth. He went on to become a great orator. Look him up in Google or Wikipedia!

People like to relate w/a speaker.. Then just when they think they know where you are going w/(your speech) blow their socks of (poss.sounds) ?? I dont know I would rather change the topic of the speech??? good luck!
