I haven’t read the book but I have heard of it. The word “diction” basically means choice of words. Since the book is about growing up poor in the South perhaps the author uses Southern words and phrases to help the reader identify with what his life was like (it’s a memoir right?).

Plan out your paper and work on it in stages. If you get a certain amount of work done, then watching TV can be the reward, but you can’t make the reward bigger than the work you do, so the reward for work should be equal to the work you’ve done.
