Hypothesis help?

G’day! I am doing an Environmental Science practical on an individuals ecological footprint. With a series of questions re humans consumption, tranport demands, recylcing, using energy efficient appliances etc one can analyze the data based on the Living Planet’s report and come up with an individual ecological footprint. My aim is to obtain these footprints and analyze human demand on the environment.

I need to have a hypothesis (something that can be tested) and it needs to be in the form of “If” “Then” ie If this happens, than that will occur; something that is testable.

Can someone please suggest some hypothesis statements? Thank you and look forward to any replies

(This can get you college kudos and later, really help you as you pursue your future career, if you do it right-comment only.) My actual hypothesis suggestion involves something about purified water needs.

ie: “If the population continues to grow at ___ rate per year in ______country, then purified water needs will increase to a level of _____. ”

or maybe

“If purified water needs increase to a level of_____, then ______ country (or state, city, town) will need to add____ purification plants.”

Just an idea to get you thinking.

If mankind continues to pollute the planet’s atmosphere with such pollutants as exhaust from automobiles and coal-burning power plants, then climate increases will continue and reach critical, fatal levels in less than a few decades.

If we continue to produce as much excess packaging for consumer products as we do today without an increased recycling effort, the Earth will be covered in a thin layer of milk cartons, plastic wrap and small cardboard boxes in a few years.

If we continue to use potable water as a society at the present rate, those sources will be diminished if not extinguised for our grandchildren.

etc…
