Social Status would be the answer, depending on where you were in “status” would dictate how you would behave sexually.

A well to do individual with high social standing would more then likely wait until a proper “match” is made before having any sort of sexual encounter. You must remember, this is a time when females and males were not even suppose to be seen out socially together, and if they were, there would always be a “chaperone” near to make sure that no impropriety would take place. A low born woman, would more then likely not have any advantage socially and would not “save” herself. In order for us to answer your question, please word it in what kind of social stature you are wanting to know about.

Doesn’t appear anyone wants this question…..

I could take a stab at it….

1) Never show body parts in public, that includes ankles and wrists…so you can figure out what else that includes.

2) Keep your face protected from the sun so it is white and no freckles, nothing else is showing, so no freckling there.

3) No physical interaction with any man in any way unless your husband.

4) Physical interaction with your husband only to procreate and in the dark.

5) Wear large hooped skirts so any pregnancy will be hidden.

My opinion….homework is to get you to think….you are supposed to do your own homework…!!!

As a female? Depends greatly on what class you ended up in. If you were lower class, a domestic servant, you were a plaything for any man in the house who could corner you, and if you got pregnant, it was your fault and you were dismissed.

If you were in the upper classes, you were free to dally as you pleased – but only after marriage. You had to retain your virginity until you were married, but you didn’t have to remain true to your husband.
