There’s usually an intro, a body ( a couple paragraphs worth), and a conclusion. What is the purpose of the essay? That’s what the intro. is for. It should grab people’s attention, and let them know what the essay is going to be about, and why it is important. The body is basically different points, or information that you are trying to give. It’s kind of a trick that the first sentence of a paragraph kind of sums up the entire paragraph, and the LAST sentence of a paragraph leads into the next paragraph….kind of tying all the information of the essay into each other. The conclusion basically wraps up the entire essay to say that this is what you said the essay was going to be about, you made the points you were trying to make, and what you hope the reader may get out of it, or sometimes what YOU got out of it. The conclusion should kind of relate to the intro a little bit, to conclude that you talked about everything you said you were going to in the intro, and “in conclusion,” this is what I learned or think about it all. Personally, I think the conclusion is the most important part because with a powerful closing line, it can make all the difference in an essay.
