Find a quote or phrase in the book that you like and that relates to the body of your report. Start with the phrase and then discuss it in relation to your report. Often, I used to write the body of the report and come back to the front and write the beginning later.

Start off by stating in the first line,” The purpose of this book report is to….. and then make sure everything you write about from then on relates to your purpose. An example might be: The purpose of this book report is to point out D.H. Lawrence’s sensitivity to nature. From there site example after example to support that assertion. Good Luck.

Haven’t read the book, but I’d give simply tease the reader with tidbits and questions. “What if your stepmother …? Well in this book …!” Like so. Also touch on the major themes of the book, and give interesting information about the characters. That’s my advice. Good luck.

Start with a pithy quote from the book itself and then explain what you did or didn’t like about that section or character. Then it’s off to the races from there. Good luck.

In the book, ________, there were many things that i liked and disliked. ( list them ) Overall, I really enjoyed/did not enjoy this book.

( then from the list each one is the beginning of a paragraph, but make sure that the paper flows from ending one paragraph to the beginnning of another )

be different.

Most start off with “This book I read, ‘Destined for Destiny’, tells the story of Bill Billson, a man destined for destiny.”

*yawn*

I treat it like a book review.

“Seldom does one read a book that rises above the treacle and gloss that seem to be the bane of literature. This one isn’t it.”

I always start every book report this way: “According to Cliff’s Notes….”
