Depends on when you’re looking, as things changed over time. A good source to check is Dale’s “Laws of Virginia.” At the time that it was issued, Virginia was pretty much Jamestown. You can see how religion factored in their lives, at the very least. Just remember one thing about Virginia: it was a colony whose sole purpose was for financial profit. Contrast that with Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colony–where religion was the main purpose for its founding, and you can see major differences.
