First, isolate the term containing the y by rearranging the equation:
1/y = (3 – 2x)
Now, multiply both sides by y and simplify it:
y(1/y) = (3 – 2x)y
1 = y(3-2x)
Now, isolate y by dividing both sides by 3-2x
y = 1/(3 – 2x)
I hope that helps

3=2x+1/y
3-2x=1/y then take the inverse of both sides
y=1/(3-2x)

3=2x+1/y
3/2x=2x+1/y/2x
3/2x=1/y
(cross multiply)
3y=2x
3y/3=2x/3
y=2x/3
