I believe it is the lek, and the qindarka and qintar. I believe that 1 lek is about 11 cents US – the second site is a monetary converter which should help you.

Albanian monetary unit is lek (which is made of 100 qindarka).

1 Lek = 0.01 USD

1 USD = 89.86 Lek

Currency rate as of 14 September 2007

Usually, in the last past 10 years, the value of 1 dollar has fluctuated between 90 – 110 Lek.

Hope it helps! 😉

the albanians are very poor. not good to have albanian money.. exchange it for us money as quickly as possible. then take with you american cash everywhere you go in europe. do not take travellers checks. if you take travellers checks they will know that you are wealthy and will kid nap you in adition to just mugging you.
