How do you solve an equation with more than one equals symbol?

For geometry, we have to find the value of x for the following angle measurements.

measurement of angle AOC = 7x – 2 which is equal to the measurement of angle AOB = 2x + 8 which is equal to the measurement of angle BOC = 3x + 14.

So does that mean that the equation would have to be:

7x – 2 = 2x + 8 = 3x + 14?

I don’t really get it, because an equation supposedly cannot have more than one equals symbol. So if you could kindly help me out, that’d be great. Thank you.

Oh and on a side note, angle AOB added to angle BOC is equal to angle AOC.

it would be

(2x+8)+(3x+14)= 7x – 2

and then rearrange to solve for x

just take 2 at a time first

7x-2=2x+8 and solve that 7x=2x+6 blah blah good luck
