How do you help some one when you don’t know what they are asking you?
I have a friend that asked her mom for help in algebra but her mom said that she was never taught algebra when she went to school, so her mom asked me to ask this question because her daughter still asks her for help and she doesn’t know hoe to help because she’s either forgotten how or was never taught it in the first place.

Obviously the mom is not going to be able to help with the actual algebra problems, so the best thing she can do to help is contact her daughter’s teacher to find out if the teacher will answer homework questions from her/his home in the evening, either by email or on the phone.
Other options include finding a friend who knows algebra and will tutor for free or hire a tutor — even other students who probably won’t charge a large amount.
If you know algebra and could help, maybe you could even volunteer.
