How do you cite a verse from the Bible using APA format?

I am writing a paper and I used a Bible verse in it, but I do not know how to site it in my paper

Duke University notes this example for in-text citation:

Bible passage.

Unfortunately, the president could not recall the truism found in Prov. 20-22 that “Wisdom is a fountain to one who has it, but folly is the punishment of fools” (New Oxford Annotated Bible).

Another page states:

Classical Works (including the Bible)-According to APA, no entry is required for the References list for works such as Greek, Roman and Biblical citations. The first time the version is used in text, a citation is provided showing the version used and the chapter/verse/lines as is pertinent to the source. If subsequent references are used, it is then assumed that the same version will be used throughout the paper. If this is not the case, then a new in text citation must be provided.

Book of Bible [abbreviated] chapter: verse, version of Bible used

(example) “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” (Rom. 12:1, The Wesley Bible).

I studied with them utilising the yankee time-honored and King James translations. Their Bible-based ideals return way until eventually now the recent international Translation of 1960, so they do no longer ought to apply the NWT. This Bible became translated by ability of an nameless committee of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They do like it because of the fact it particularly is literal, yet many others use it. Over a hundred million have been dispensed. case in point, interior the OT (Hebrew scriptures) maximum Bibles will say ‘male’ jointly as the recent international Translation renders the word actually ‘everybody urinating against a wall’. i became raised a Catholic, and that i’ve got studied all distinctive denominations. i’m now luckily one in all Jehovah’s Witnesses.
