Since it is only 2 pages that you have to outline – here are some suggestions to help you:

Bold and Underline major topics – go through the pages and just take the headings for each topic.

Then under each bolded topic bullet point key points.

The key to outlining is to not write everything down. Just take down major ideas (broad ideas):

like dates – what occurred on this date (for example: 12/7/1941: The Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor); and

important names (example: Abraham Lincoln: Was the 16th President of the United States and was in office during the Civil War. Assassinated in 1865); and

important events (example: WWII)

If you have to do an outline on 2 pages of reading material, then it shouldn’t be too long.

Keep in mind to write in full sentences, because you want the person who is reading your outline to be able to follow along.
