0the need a lowest common denominator.

the lowest would be 30

so it would be 24/30+20/30+21+30

then just add ans simplify

hope that helps

Its like this: you take your bottom no. call the denominator and multiply them 5X3X10 = 150 reduce this down to something smaller that everything on top will go into say 30, continue 4/5 = 24/30 2/3=20/30 7/10= 21/30 then add all the top line you get 65/30 reduce this down you get 2 and 5/30 walla this is your answer 2 and 5/30, very simple

4/5+2/3+7/10 = 2.1666666667

I arrived at the answer by copying your problem into the Yahoo search engine and hitting enter. However, you really do need to know how to derive at the answer by working the problem.

The website below should help you understand the principle of adding fractions.

you find a common denominator (that’s the bottom number & you find a common number that all 3 divide into) then multiply tops and bottoms together then add them with the common demonator. and viola!

Ex: 1/3+7/8 The common denominator is 24 so you multply 1/3 by 8 = 8/24 then mult 7/8 by 3 = 21/24 so 8/24+21/24 =29/24

find the least common denominator for all of the fractions, then add

(if your lazy, type the values above into a calculator and then guess and check to find the solution)
