So in this case multiply 7 times 15 = 105
then multiply 4 times 15=60 and you end up with 18 60/105 for the first mixed fraction.
Then you multiply 11 times 7 = 77 giving you 3 77/105
Since 77 is bigger then 60, borrow one whole from the 18 giving you 17 165/105.
Subtract 3 from 17 =14 and 77 from 165= 88 and you get 14 88/105. Since you can’t reduce it any further that would be your answer.
Then figure out when the bottom numbers would be equal so you would multiply 7*15 on the bottom
1950/105- 392/150= 1558/105
Then you make it the smallest fraction that you can…
Since we cant add them directly, find the (least common multiple) LCM first. the LCM of 7 and 15 is 105.. so..105 divided by the denominator times the numerator.. so we can have 105/7*130 =
1950 over LCM. the 2nd given is 105/15*56 = 392 over the LCm..
we obtain now 1950/150 – 392/150 = 1558/150.
thats the answer..
hope you understand my explanation!
GOOd Luck!! 😉
18x(7/7)+4/7 and 3x(15/15)+11/15
126/7+4/7 and 45/15+11/15
130/7-56/15
and then find a common denomenatory (sorry cant spell)
(15/15)x(130/7)-(56/15)(7/7)
(1950/105)-(392/105)
1558/105
14 88/105
