im doing a paper on “the pearl” by john steinbeck, and i have to say what literary element is in it. could someone tell me?

oh my, thats a lot.

point of view – told by a third person’s point of view. he knew wat the characters moods and emotions.

style and language – quite simple and straighforward. plot is in chronological. lots of metaphors & symbols used. eg song of the pearl to be, song of the enemy etc etc. contrast used to portray difference between upper and lower class.

themes – opression of the poorer class, materials and financial security, greed, hope, love and care, significance of the music and songs,

symbols – the canoe, pearl, scorpion and even coyotito!

i suppose you could deduce your own moral values rite? i recommend you this book :
