HELPPP please with my homework?
You think that ur pet can improve there brain by eating a special snack. You get your friend’s pets together and test them with the snacks. They ate one snack with every meal. for 3 weeks. You also gave it to them before and after.
TEST RESULTS
Pet Before After
pet 1 64% 80%
pet 2 78% 78%
pet 3 82% 84%
pet 4 72% 70%
Based on the percentages above, does the special snacks work?
1) Explain ur answer.
2) Identify the independent and dependent variables in the experiment.

Further, for these tests to be valid, the same species of animal would need to be examined as well as other factors such as the type of foods the pets were eating (in conjunction with the snacks), the amount of food and the age of the pet.
Also the type of test that was given to the pet to examine their performance needs to be considered (eg. was it a motor test, was it a following verbal commands test?)
As for the independent and dependent variables, it appears that the independent variable (IV) is the special snack (the thing you are trying to manipulate) and the dependent variable is the pet’s performance (the thing you are trying to measure). I am a bit rusty on that stuff so I hope that is right!!
And also as the answer above me points out, the sample size is WAY too small, that is a very important point.
So make sure you put that in your answer (for example, in order for the tests to be considered valid, a much larger sample size is needed (min 50 animals of the same species) (eg. cats or dogs) and the pets need to be tested under controlled experimental conditions to eliminate extraneous variables.
1) Explain ur answer.
Inconclusive. The test group was FAR too small, the results were mixed, and their diet could have been affected by outside influences.
2) Identify the independent and dependent variables in the experiment.
The independent variable is the special snack, which you are now administering to your pets.
The dependent variable is the test results of the four pets before and after the experiment.
Pet 2 no change
Pet 3 2% increase
pet 4 2% decrease
omg!! sorry!! I dont understand either.
I hope someone can help you quick.
