Help with physics equation?
“How long will it take a cart to roll 80m down a ramp if it is accelerating at 4m/s^2?”
I tried using the formula for accelerating and then just substituting the values; didn’t work. Also tried d=rt; didn’t work. I know the answer is 6.32s, because it says so at the bottom… but I don’t know how to get that. Can someone please explain this to me?

use s = ut + 1/2 a t^2, so
80 = 0 + 1/2 x 4 x t^2, so
80 = 2t^2, so
40 = t^2, so
t = rt 40, so
t = + or – 6.23 secs.
A negative time is not possible, so
t = 6.23 secs.
Hope this helps, Twiggy.
