filipino family is like any other family, what makes it unique is emphasis on respect by the young toward the elders, even by younger siblings to their elder siblings. this has changed thru time but basically maintained to some degree.

in native country of philippines, words’ po ‘ and ‘ opo ‘ are respectful words somewhat like yes sir or yes mam but on more intimate level as a child speaking to his/her parent/s.

another typical trait of filipinos is being religious mainly catholic so there is devotion to rosary saints and going to church. this is the typical filipino family but may be different in america or for young generations today.

if you are to write a story, a typical sunday which starts with the family all going to church and then going home where everyone helps in chores would be a good subject.

making a story about your own family is quite easy. You just describe what kind of family you have. Actually, you don’t need the help of others because there’s no one out there that knows more about your family than you… Maybe in terms of proofreading that you may ask somebody to help you…. So just state on your story all about your family…. For example, what are your favorite past times, a place where you always hang out, or what does your parents usually do… specially on non-working days… and so on…..
